Lego Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Part 13) - Liberty on Ryloth
Almost done with Ventress’s path. Will Ventress actually be IN the level this time?

We’re at the “Liberty on Ryloth” episode, which was the end of the Ryloth invasion story arc. Please tell me we’re not going to be capturing more bases, PLEASE.

Oh crap, we’re capturing more bases. I don’t know what I’ll have to say about this level if this keeps up. (sighs) Well, there’s a minikit behind a rock, you can get another minikit by destroying ten of a certain kind of rock, and you get another minikit by destroying five palm trees.

And you can get a minikit by blowing up three of the droid hovercannons.

First thing we have to destroy is this electrocution thing on the bridge that zaps you if you get to close to it. Get on one of the cannons our own bases already have and blast it.

And now we can get to work capturing bases. Not much to say about capturing the first few bases, except you’ll notice a chute that leads to this weird Vader helmet thing in the mountain (look at the top of the screenshot).

I have no idea what that’s for, but we can’t visit it right now anyway. Let’s capture bases the same way we have before, buying cannons to blow up stuff we can’t destroy with speeders, yadda yadda yadda. On two of the bases, you’ll notice a giant-ass arrow pointing to one of the squares.

Stand on that square after capturing the base and this laser shooting thing will build itself, which shoots a laser at the bridge generator to fix the bridge leading to the capital city.
Oh, and after I captured all the bases, I was able to buy a minikit dispenser.

Buy the dispenser, have your clone buddy activate the panel, and voila, a minikit!

Of course, you can only buy one dispenser. Back to the game. Even though we’ve fixed the bridge, there’s still a big silver gate in the way of the city. At first, I thought we needed a cannon to blow it up.

But no matter where I placed the cannon, it wouldn’t put a dent in the gate. Then, d’oh, I remembered the air support where you could get a walker. Stupid me. With the walker, you can just walk up to the gate and blow it up.

And guess what, that’s the end of the level and the end of the Ventress story. Does anyone else get the feeling that the developers had about half the game finished when they were suddenly told that they had to rush the rest of the game to meet the deadline and so they threw in all these base-capturing levels?
Anyway, I went exploring the hub and I found out that if you whack the punching bag in the fitness center five times quickly, you unlock the “Fast Build” Power Brick. Name says it all – this powerup speeds up building.

You can also go to a cannon in the fitness center and shoot enemy ships. At first I thought this was just for studs, but after shooting for a little while I got a message saying “Space Mission Unlocked.” No idea what that is, but I love fun extras.

Okay, apparently I’ve unlocked “Republic Assault” missions, which are short little bonus missions where you have to (what else?) capture a certain number of bases within a time limit. Yeah, I think I’ll do that later.

Anyway, I found Captain Typho wandering around and bought him.

I also found the Naboo queen Neeyutnee.

Yeah, I had more fun exploring the hub than playing the actual level. Well, Ventress’s path is done – we only have Grievous’s path left.
