Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Part 33) - Speeder Showdown
Sorry it’s been so long – life and back pain have been getting to me. Anyway, let’s go to Endor.
It’s speeder bike chase time! As with most vehicle levels, there won’t be a lot of screenshots, but you can admire Lego Han’s backside.

What, you think I’m so dangerously obsessed with Han that I like looking at his plastic backside? Whatever gave you that idea?
Anyway, our gang lands on Endor and let’s take a moment to admire how nicely it’s rendered.

Let’s start off by (of course) shooting all those plastic plants for studs. After Leia’s taken care of the plants, Luke can use the Force to make the debris into a plank, which he can then lift with the Force to get Leia on top of the huge fallen tree.

Of course, Luke’s still trapped behind the tree and it’s too big for him to Jedi jump over. Leia needs to build an ascension gun platform.

She can go grappling up and step on this Ewok elevator-thing to lower it for Luke.

They can get over the next fallen tree by having Luke use the Force to make a ramp, then it’s time to kick some stormtrooper ass. Unfortunately, there’s a GIANT-ASS FORCEFIELD blocking us.

Fortunately, we can commandeer some speeder bikes and go after the stormtroopers. The speeder bike chase is fast, fast, FAST, meaning getting screenshots is almost impossible, but I did manage one (and I crashed right after taking it, so you’re welcome).

Even though I couldn’t take a lot of screenshots, trust me when I say it’s exhilarating. However, the downside is that it’s VERY easy to crash, doubly so when you’re shooting trees and plants and backtracking for the studs they produce. You’ll also find several minikits in cages, though to get some of them you have to fly over sensors to turn their lights green before you can reach them. Another nice touch is that as speeder bikes take damage (both yours and the stormtroopers’) they start emitting black smoke.
Anyway, when you’re done collecting loot, shoot the stormtroopers’ bikes until they explode. Of course, they’re not too happy about that and when you automatically get off your bikes, you’ll have to face a swarm of stormtroopers PLUS an AT-ST walker! You’ve gotta get rid of the enemies and steal the walker, which you can use to get on this elevated piece of ground, but the numerous dark side plants get in the way of exploring that area further.

I wonder, did Vader plant those? Well anyway, use the walker to blow up the forcefield generator, then get back on the bikes for another round of Shoot the Stormtroopers’ Speeder Bikes. Once you’ve got the designated number of stormtroopers, you’ll run into ANOTHER forcefield. This time, there’s no walker to be found, though there is there’s a tantalizing minikit in a cage hanging over us.

Alas, we can’t get it yet. Instead, let’s build an ascension gun target to get Leia up the tree so she can pull this lever.

The lever will bring those walker pieces crashing down so Luke can use the Force to fix the walker. Yeah, he figured out the inner workings of it and everything.

Blast the forcefield generator and it’s time for Round 3 of the speeder bikes! You know the drill by now – shoot the designated number of stormtroopers and you’ll run into yet another forcefield. This time around you can commandeer the walker as normal, then we have Round 4 of the speeder bikes, then we’re back where we started. There’s still one more forcefield to get through, but how do we bring it down?
Simple, cross the bridge over a ravine and you’ll see that the Ewoks have captured this walker.

It’s pretty cute how there’s a log fence around it and everything, but we need that walker, so we’ve gotta build a circular lever to bring down the fence. Now we can use the walker to take out the last forcefield, but not before we blast some materials out of the trees and Luke uses the Force to make those materials into a wide bridge.

You might think the level is over, but nope, we’ve gotta destroy this Imperial tower on the other side of the forcefield – after killing plants in the name of studs, of course.

And no, we can’t get the Power Brick or the minikit yet, so when you’re finished destroying nature’s beauty, have Luke and Leia pull levers to activate an elevator.

Cross the bridge to another elevator that will take you to the roof.

Hopefully you’ve reached True Jedi by now, because if you haven’t . . . well, you’re gonna die a LOT here. Hoards and hoards and HOARDS of stormtroopers come after you and oh yeah, there’s that GIANT AT-AT WALKER! You can shoot the rails for studs, but you’ll probably lose more studs in the process. What you’ve gotta do is pull four levers to rotate the generators on the four corners, then after you take out the hoards of stromtroopers, step on the front platform that will spring you into the AT-AT.
You’re in control of an AT-AT! What fun! Well, not as much fun as you think since the thing is slow and clunky as hell. At least all you have to do is shoot the four generators, then you’ll automatically be thrown back to the roof. Two more levers will appear – pull them to make the tower go BOOM!
Whew, that was quite a level. We’ve unlocked Luke and Leia in their Endor garb, but there aren’t any new characters available for purchase. See you next time for when we meet the Ewoks!
