The future of this blog
Apr. 25th, 2024 07:54 pmHey. Yeah, it's been a while AGAIN. Well, for the two people who read this blog, I'm not dead and the back pain hasn't gotten any better.
Anyway, May is just around the corner and May is Star Wars Month for a number of reasons. It's the month of May the Fourth be With You, Lucas's birthday, and the releases of all the Lucas-canon Star Wars films plus Solo. I know I said I'd be playing Star Wars Pinball for this blog next and I actually did start writing about it, but you know what, it's been TWO FUCKING YEARS since I got Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and it's HIGH TIME to play it. I might slip in some Star Wars Pinball play during my time playing The Skywalker Saga too - there's no rule that says I can't play more than one game at once.
As for finishing Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, well after two computers prevented me from finishing it, that recap is on hold for now. Yeah, I could dig up my copy of the 3DS version and play the end of that, but the 3DS version has different level layouts from the regular version.
Anyway, in order to avoid suffering burnout with The Skywalker Saga like I did with The Force Awakens, I'm making some changes to my recapping formula. The long-winded, screencap-filled format worked for the older NES and SNES games, but takes a TON of work for newer games, so here's how I'm changing things around for The Skywalker Saga.
*No screencaps. I'm sorry, but taking screencaps and uploading them was one of the things that made this blog feel more like a chore than a good time. I might take a screencap or two of things I find particularly interesting, but I'm definitely not filling the recaps with screencaps like I used to.
*Shorter recaps. I don't need to describe every section of every level in detail. This is a fan blog, not GameFAQ.
*Focusing on what stands out. Again, this isn't GameFAQ - I don't need to go through all the controls or all the puzzles. I'm going to focus more on being a fan instead of feeling the need to ramble about everything.
I know, I know, why don't I just do livestreams like everyone else? Because my computer's ancient and I'm fucking poor, that's why.
I think that's about it. I'll see you on May 1st for the first level of The Skywalker Saga and the grand re-opening of this blog.
